In this inaugural episode, our host Simon the Cut brings us inspirational discursive of the legendary song Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix.

Every great song is founded upon how it was made. A chord that shouldn't fit, but does. A line that lands just off the beat and makes your heart skip a beat. A silence where you expected sound.

In each episode, your host, Simon the Cut, takes one song and opens it up the architecture of songwriting. Two ideas at the heart of the song are set side by side, then compared and contrasted. Loved. Then we go deeper into the philosophy of sound, listening beneath the mix for what the ear misses and the heart has always known.

How was it written? Why does it work? And what can it teach us?

The wisdom of angelic song creation...
